Be Compassionate

Strawberry Singh must be telepathic into the universe. She came up with the perfect meme this week hop over here to see the challenge: Strawberry Singh Mean Comments Meme. This leads me to why I'm blogging what I'm blogging tonight instead of what I was going too... I am simply just MAD for a blogger that had to deal with a mean comment recently.

I will say that sometimes in some situations our mouths engage before our brains. I have been victim of this. I had a sponsor let me go because my "style" didn't fit their look anymore. I was devastated. But instead of walking away from the computer to let it sink in. Before I could say "okay, I understand, but I love your product, what can I do for you to make my blog fit your style and reapply at a later time. I instead EXPLODED into a fitful temper tantrum that to this day I'm still very ashamed of. Sadly, it ruined a friendship and the reaction of the creator was of course not favorable. So please before you say something cruel to someone else, put yourself in their shoes, walk away from your computer. Type it out in word or something then re read it later before reacting.
  1. Have you ever been subjected to mean comments online by strangers? If not, then skip to question #5. – YES! I have had had people tell me I'm a bitch, stand offish.
  2. How did you respond to them? – The only time I regret my reaction is how I exploded to a blog manager when she released me from blogging for a creator that I loved and adored. It was a hard lesson learned.
  3. How did they make you feel? – Honestly, because of how I felt for this creator I was so hurt, just beyond hurt. I reacted badly because of that pain. I honestly to this day don't know why my blog wasn't "good enough" but that's exactly how it felt. I have since grown from that experience. I think I miss the friendship more then the product because when you have sponsors you sometimes become very very close to them. I just like my sponsors and try to be friends with them too.
  4. Can you share some of the mean comments you’ve received and your thoughts on them? – I'm used to being bullied, I was bullied from the time I was 8 years old into adult hood. I can't pick one statement that stands out to me, but I will say my thoughts are there's never any reason to bully another. NEVER. EVER.

When I was out taking pictures for this blog post we were wandering around the Image Essentials Sim because lets face Kay is awesome and her sim has so many great places to take pictures. So this spot just rang out to my daughter Emma (Cute little one on the far right, and her best friend Ally with the blue bow) so we sat down, I pulled out a pillow from Say Cheese and they look like little zombies watching tv. Wondering why I would add a picture like this? Well, it's because when my sons were about this age my ex husband accused me of neglecting them. From the time I was 27 when I divorced for many years I heard horrible things from my ex husband, and his family. It just made me stronger, but for a long time it controlled my life, and made me feel less then a parent. It wasn't until my children began to grow up, and think for themselves that I learned that I was a good parent, not perfect but a good parent.

5. Have you ever ridiculed or negatively commented on someone else’s work, actions or personality with the intention to hurt them? – I never intentionally hurt someone. Have I? Oh I am sure I have. With the intent to hurt them? Of course not. There are some blogs I simply don't like to read. I have to glance at them because I am and have been a blogger manager for another creator so it's kind of my job to read them. I also follow some blogs that aren't *my* style, but I would never publicly tell them they're crap. I might voice it out loud to my husband "I don't really like this picture" but it's *NEVER* about the person themselves or what they've written. Well I do complain often about people not linking linking linking. That makes me mad, that gets me riled. If you're going to pose, tell me who it is. They're denying themselves some followings and more importantly sales for a creator who may be unknown to many people. That's5 how I look at my blog it's a sales pitch for my sponsors, for people I choose to blog whether they're my sponsor or not. I keep my sponsor list low for a reason. There are many fabulous creators I would LOVE LOVE LOVE a chance to blog for but I write a LOT LOT LOT when I blog and so I just feel if I took on more I'd be more overwhelmed then I already am.

~Telephone Line~

Hello--how are you
Have you been alright, through all those lonely nights,
That's what I'd say, I'd tell you everything,
If you'd pick up that telephone.

Tonight's blog inspiration kind of came out of the blue by a very dear friend of mine. I won't say old friend because she has a whip, and she's not afraid to use it. This blog post is dedicated to Daddy Kristi. :) I honestly don't want to tell you how long I have known this fabulous Dyke lady but it's been a long time. We've had some ups and we've had some downs but really when the going gets tough she and I both know we have each others backs and that we'll just always be friends.

I headed over to my wifey's platform and sat on her pose stand since I am in the process of a second life move. (Only in Second Life can you move within 30 mins, tearing down everything and replanting yourself elsewhere.. but that's a whole nother store for nother time.) While trying to reminisce of days gone by. I dug into my inventory and pulled out this classy new release from No Name called the Keely Corset dress. Let me tell you this dress is just.. wowzers. I'm just continually impressed by these creators. Shelby tells me they've been around awhile.. they're a very hidden secret that I hope gets shouted loud and clear so more and more people know the name brand No Name. *nods nods her head firmly..* What's that quote 'No one hides baby in the corner.." well we should make that No Names quote "No one anymore hides No Name." Okay so I am tired, I've been up all night. Heh. :)

Recently, I added Daddy Kristi to my to my facebook page that is my SL page because she and I had reconnected on my "real life" page, lol.. and so she is always harassing me somewhere. Tonight she sent the link to the song "Telephone Line" by ELO (Electric Light Orchestra) and I was like OMG! so yeah... I probably should have found some cozy couch and sat down with a book and a telephone in hand but I never do what people think. So while I'm walking down memory lane look at these fabulous shoes! They're also by No Name called Ora Heels which are a new release available at their store. And I know Daddy Kristi has a thing for shoes.. I may have to find the kinds of shoes she likes instead of sexy ass heels. :P

One of the amazing things about No Name's dress and shoes in this blog post is they're hudded. This dress you can do SO MANY different things. You can change the red fabric to another color, the black fabric to different colors the skirt and bows change colors, even the metals and the white ribbing down each side of the red. AMAZING. I mean seriously so many different looks in JUST ONE DRESS! And the shoes are hudded as well. But if you're like me, you love shoes so I'm eager to buy more of their shoes! And Dresses! And tops! *nods nods nods*

So when I dress, I dress from head to toe. Every woman must. It's just... well a must. I decided I needed new hair. I'm a hair addict what can I say so I drove over to Truth and picked up this new hair called Mireya. I love it, can change my hair, my clothes with just the flick of a button and my hair color. No gray hair for meh! Then I dug into my inventory and painted my lips with La Boheme glossy red lipstick. KISSABLE! Plants one right on your smackarooo's! Explain that to your husband or your wife! ~giggles~ And you can't forget the new razor sharp polish by Dark Passions/Koffin Nails. If you piss me off I can just slit your wrists with my fantastic nails?! yes? No? Okay.. No, I won't.~sighs taking away all my fun~ But they are truly gruesomely wicked.. I love it. She's the only person I know that goes from pastel bats to razor sharp in less then a week. You can find these fabulous polishes for your hands and tosies at CarnEvil from March 22nd to April 6th. You could truly be evil and have new blades or rusty! These come for Slink, Maitreya and Belleza versions. :) So no girl (or guy) can be left behind.

~Lady in Red~

I've never seen you looking so lovely as you did tonight
I've never seen you shine so bright
I've never seen so many men ask you if you wanted to dance
They're looking for a little romance, give'em half a chance
And I've never seen that dress you're wearing
Or that highlights in your hair that catch your eyes, I have been blind

I've been trying to be good and not go to very many events, but Collabor88 is one of my favorites. I was resisting, I was. Until my little sister showed up in the new dress by Tee*fy  called Kira Off-Shoulder Dress - creator Azure Electricteeth whose store is called: LaViere & Tee*fy . I actually bought this in several colors because I liked it so much.

All poses used in this are by Something New Poses and Props. Calendar Girl available at the Olala Event that ends on March 20th so if you want the first set of these super cute poses, NOWs the time to go get them! The first set is Jan-July. The other half August through December is coming out soon!

Pose used Blog my hands by Something New Poses and Props
Nail polish by La Boheme called [LB Khan Silver] *Slink* Manicure & Pedicure. Comes in all these fabulous colors. I love silver too so loved the reverse effect she put on these pretties.

These are two of the poses for the Calendar girl collection by Something New Poses and Props.. I feel very sexy. :)

As I was digging through my inventory I found this old wonderful goody from Something New Called "LOVE" thought it was fitting cuz I'm feeling gushy today.

You can't have an outfit without the most perfect shoes..These shoes are called Protocol Platform shoes that I thought fit perfectly with this dress. These were a gift from Sugar Falta awhile back and I absolutely love that I was able to wear them and blog these for her. Actually, I wear them quite abit. :)

~Invincible~

This bloody road remains a mystery
This sudden darkness fills the air
What are we waiting for?
Won't anybody help us?
What are we waiting for?

What a week! I got this jacket called Tori about a week or so from my new sponsor [nn] and was like I feel like a rocker chick! I kept having Pat Benear songs playing through my head. (So does that show my age? lolol) I wanted to look fierce because this jacket is just that.. FIERCE! *rawr!!!!* I love the shine of it, I really want to drag this out of SL and shrug it on and just wear it. :) But sadly I can't but I'll love it on SL just the same. I liked this picture I took because you can see the quality of the texturing that the No Name team puts into their designs.

The shoes I am wearing are also by No Name called Jami, you can win these pretty things at The Luck of the Irish Gacha Fair that runs until March 31st.   The polish I am wearing is ALSO from this fair by Dark Passions/Koffin Nails. I'm wearing "Eyes on you" the rare find.  All these polishes are so colorful and fun!!!

Expectations

"Don't blame people for disappointing you, blame yourself for expecting to much from them"

Lately I have thought about expectations. The expectations I put upon myself, the expectations I put on others. I really need to stop putting expectations on others because I find that I'm always disappointed. I feel I put unrealistic expectations on others. I want to be the type of friend who's always there for my friends no matter what's going on in my life. But lately, I've had some stuff happening that really just terrifies me. And I find that I've put unrealistic expectations on my friends. I get my feelings hurt that they haven't reached out more. I KNOW in my head and my heart what's going on with me is important to them, but I find when they don't reach out I get disappointed. Some people who I haven't expected have reached out, message almost daily to ask how I am, or poke me or something silly which makes me laugh and smile. Other friends don't ask me what's wrong but they do reach out and I'm thankful for that. Sometimes getting out of my own head space is good! Means I'm not worrying about an upcoming out patient surgery which I know is going to be okay but it also opens the door for "what ifs."  So I don't blame my friends for not reaching out, I blame myself for slapping these unrealistic expectations on them. It's not fair to expect them to do things when I don't always do the same for them. It's not fair to them for me to expect them to reach out when I haven't told them this is what I need from you.

This also leads to expectations of oneself. Especially when it comes to blogging, I put very high expectations on myself. If I can't get an alpha to work, or if something isn't clicking with me, I simply won't blog it until I'm happy that what I'm wearing represents the creator I'm blogging for. For example the shirt I am wearing is from Aurora's Closet. I love this shirt, I love how it fits, and I love the look of it. I love that it exposes my tummy and works well with my mesh body. I went sim hopping one day about a week ago when I received this and took tons of pictures but not one of them I felt was very good so I wasn't going to blog it because I didn't feel that it represented me or the shirt very well. So I talked Cedric into going with me to L'Arc-en-Ciel. We walked around and he shot the first picture near the entrance point. I love that he caught the aurora borealis in the night sky. If you've never been to L`Arc-en-Ciel then please go! It's a beautifully well done sim. If you wish to rez you'll have to pay a group fee, but the sim is so well done for me it was worth it so I can go back again and again.
